This video walks through the building, up the stairs and into the various rooms, lounge bedroom, kitchen, bathroom. There was information all around the building about hoarding behaviours in myths and legends, hoarding in literature, as well as advice, guidance and resources that can be used.

Visitors to the exhibition were able to sit in a chair in the bedroom lounge and fully experience the space from the perspective of the person who may live in the space. The voice you can hear is the voice of the podcaster "That Hoarder: Overcome Compulsive Hoarding" Podcast who gave us permission to use soundbites from their episode 200, a letter to their episode 1 self. This was the hoarded bedroom lounge space we created as part of the Seeing Beyond the Hoard exhibition. In the space were items that people frequently struggle to let go of, magazines, photo albums, clothes, jigsaw puzzles, cuddly toys and teddies, books, items that belonged to parents, electrical items and IT equipment. we wanted to recreate a space that reflected some of the homes we have visited and some of the stories people shared about their journey. Notes were placed around the room to explain why someone decided to keep those items and what they may remind them off from their life.

CEO and Founding Director of Beyond the Hoard CIC, Christine Searl is a neuro-divergent hoarding practitioner who has lived experience with hoarding behaviours as a child of a father with hoarding behaviours. With a degree in psychology and sociology, she possesses extensive training and experience.
Christine brings over 30 years of experience in Adult Health and Social Care, Housing, and Education. She has worked with clients who have their own lived experiences of physical and mental illness, neurodivergence, learning differences, trauma, and bereavement. Utilising her training in psychology, motivational interviewing, and counselling skills, she adopts a person-centred holistic approach, collaborating with clients and their support circles.
Her recent roles include managing a team of Experts by Lived Experience in NHS Community Mental Health Transformation and as a Hoarding Coordinator for Clouds End CIC in Birmingham. Christine is also skilled in designing and delivering training and workshops, which she has provided to various voluntary and community sector organisations, as well as statutory agencies, throughout her extensive career.

Director of Beyond The Hoard CIC, Carol is an NLP practitioner, Master and Life Coach, with an MBA and sings alto. Her degree in zoology and psychology led to a career in scientific editing, 14 years in government publishing, plus secondments that included merging two government agencies—interspersed with Italian trips. After experiencing bereavement, a career break, NLP training, and walking the Camino with teenagers and tents (twice!), she dedicated five years to a charity project evaluating the impact of coaching carers of cancer patients.
Carol has valuable experience coaching individuals facing transitions in life, including cancer patients on the Health Creation programme and family members supporting relatives with dementia. Her paid role recruiting volunteers at Pershore Volunteer Centre sparked her interest in volunteering as a Trustee at Pershore Youth Centre, where she successfully wrote funding bids and met Christine! She also volunteered in a charity shop stockroom and at Pershore Wellbeing Hub.
Now, as a Director of Beyond The Hoard CIC, she is focused on addressing hoarding behaviours and providing therapeutic support in the local community, particularly in Beyond the Hoard's Worcestershire support groups.
